Turkey’s July rod exports fall despite new destinations
Turkish wire rod exports continued to decline in July, slumping 21.5% on-year to 116,009 tonnes, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data monitored by Kallanish. They were, nevertheless, up from 89,802t in June.
Their average price was $791/tonne versus $763/t in July 2021 and $901/t in June 2022.
Exports of round rod below 14mm diameter comprised 71,884t. Senegal took 11,361t and Morocco 10,491t, the only countries to take more than 10,000t. This w…
