Kevin Napier, Editor
A metallurgist, I have worked in the steel industry since 1976, initially in production and technical areas and then in international sales and marketing management. From 2005 I worked in a variety of roles for SBB in online publishing and information provision based in the UK, China and the Middle East. The opportunity to join the guys at Kallanish to assist in adding further value to the industry which has given me my living for so long was therefore too good to miss. Steel is therefore something of a passion for me, my other passions being soccer and a lifelong supporter of Doncaster Rovers (who rather appropriately now appear to be going in “One Direction”, albeit the wrong one).
Rick Stouffer, Editor
I've joined the company as North America Energy Editor for KallanishEnergy. I have been covering energy-related topics for more than two decades, with an emphasis on oiland natural gas in the last 10 years. I was one of the first journalists to cover what has become one of the biggest energy stories in the last 30 years: the Marcellus Shale play in the U.S.’s Appalachian Basin. During my career, I also have covered the coal, nuclear and renewable energy industries for business publications, weekly business and daily newspapers, and Internet-only publications. I'm based in the center of the Marcellus Shale play: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Adam Smith, Editor - MENA
Having graduated from university in England’s steel city of Sheffield, I seemed destined to end up in a career related to the steel industry. I started with Steel Business Briefing in 2008 by reporting on the Central and Eastern European steel market, attending various industry conferences and interviewing numerous company executives in the region. In 2011 I moved to Dubai to head SBB’s editorial coverage of the Middle Eastern and Turkish markets from the newly-opened Dubai office. Now, three years on, I’m delighted to join Kallanish, to contribute my experience of the vibrant and fast-growing Middle Eastern and Turkish steel markets to the comprehensive global industry coverage provided by our team.
Dan Hilliard, Editor North America
I’m from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - the birthplace of the US steel industry - and I got my start in the industry in 2009 with the original Steel Business Briefing. Prior to that, I covered police and military affairs in Beaufort, South Carolina, and spot news for the Valley News Dispatch in Tarentum, PA. As part of the North American Kallanish team, I cover flats, tubular products and specialty steel products. My wife and I are in the process of clearing a 13-acre parcel on the outskirts of the city for horse pasture and a pumpkin patch. When I’m not cutting brush or tinkering with our tractors, I enjoy fishing, writing speculative fiction and exploring our local trails.
Tomas Gutierrez, Editor Asia
I'm the Asia editor and am producing editorial content on Asia with a focus on China. I am based in Shanghai, where I have lived and worked for the last two and a half years and can speak mandarin as well as English and Spanish. Emanuele Norsa, Editor Southern Europe
After training as a journalist in Italy, I started covering the steel market back in 2010 when I joined SBB in London. In 2014 I became managing editor for the EMEA steel market for Platts and have increased since my presence at global conferences and in international TV channels as speaker and commentator. I speak five languages and love art as much as steel.

Christian Koehl, Journalist
A steel journalist for some 15 years, I started off with American Metal Market, and later moved on to join the budding Steel Business Briefing, where I spent seven years as correspondent for the German-lingo countries. True to its slogan, SBB was “closest” to the steel industry, and had the most committed team to work with. As time went by, most of us SBBers are now the team that makes up Kallanish. And, may I say, in my case the address hasn’t even changed, you’ll still find me in Cologne.
Gabriela Farhangi, Journalist

As a Berlin-based Sales Manager I'm the first point of contact for our readers and workshop attendees from Austria, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Also I'm responsible for the requirements for most of the blue-chip company accounts.
