Longs: The Southeast Asian rebar import market saw few deals in April due to weak demand in regional markets. The market was quiet amid some holidays in April in certain regional markets.

Semis: The Philippine billet import market has been in poor shape almost all the way through April. Chinese traders are constantly undercutting with short sales in a fight to secure deals. Local buyers, however, withdrew from the market.

Raw Materials: The pullback in the international scrap market and weak local demand for steel in Vietnam led to lower activity in the Vietnamese scrap market in April.
