Zuhang Steel discloses upgrade plan for EAFs
China’s Chongqing Zuhang Iron & Steel has disclosed a plan to upgrade its electric arc furnaces (EAFs), and authorities are seeking public comment before moving forward with approvals.
The company intends to replace the existing two 70-tonne EAFs with a 130t furnace, Kallanish notes. A ladle refining furnace will be built at the same time, and Zuhang Steel will reserve construction space for another ladle furnace.
