Zimasco to double ferrochrome capacity in Zimbabwe
Zimbabwean ferrochrome producer Zimasco, owned by China's Sinosteel, plans to double its ferrochrome capacity after the restart of furnaces at its West Plant, Kallanish notes from local media.
The West Plant has three furnaces. The firm also has two furnaces operating at its East Plant. When active, the company was producing up to 180,000 tonnes/year of high-carbon ferrochrome across all five furnaces.
