Zhaofeng Steel shuts down all facilities
Chengde Zhaofeng Steel Company in Hebei province has shut down all its facilities, including two 650m³ blast furnaces and two 60-tonne converters, Kallanish notes. This is about three months ahead of schedule.
These facilities have a total capacity of 1.4834 million tonnes/year of iron and 1.7m t/y of crude steel. Zhaofeng Steel, a privately-owned steel company established in September 2000, mainly produced strip steel.
