Zhanjiang hot tests new slab caster
Baosteel’s Zhanjiang steelworks successfully completed the hot testing of its 2,300 millimetre double flow continuous slab caster on 15 May, Kallanish learns from the company.
The refurbished Concast machine has two 2,300mm single flow strands and was transferred from Baosteel's Luojing plant in Shanghai. Output is planned at around 2.75 million tonnes/year of slabs.
