Zaporizhstal’s 2022 output decreases significantly amid war, blackouts

Ukrainian flat steel producer Zaporizhstal, partially owned by Metinvest, decreased crude steel production in 2022, the company says. It produced 1.49 million tonnes of crude steel, down by 38.3% on-year, Kallanish notes. Pig iron output also decreased by 45.7% to 2mt, while rolled steel production fell 40% to 1.3mt.
