Zaporizhstal increases pig iron production, steel output fells
Ukrainian flat steel producer Zaporizhstal, partially owned by Metinvest, increased pig iron output in October.
It produced 399,800 tonnes last month, up by 1.1% on-year, Kallanish notes. In January-October Zaporizhstal thus increased pig iron production by 2% on-year to 3.68 million tonnes.
However, crude steel production in October continued to fall, dropping by -6.3% to 327,000t, and rolled products output was down -7.9% to 270,700t.
