Zaporizhstal increases pig iron production in May
Ukrainian flat steel producer Zaporizhstal, partially owned by Metinvest, increased pig iron production in May, the company says.
It produced 391,700 tonnes last month, up by 16.9% on-year, Kallanish notes.
However, in January-May of 2020 Zaporizhstal reduced pig iron production by -2% on-year, to 1,795 million tonnes. Steel production in May was down by -6% on-year, to 321,500t and rolled products fell by -7.8% on-year, to 269,100t.
