Yangang hot tests new slab caster
Hebei Iron & Steel Group’s Yanshan Iron & Steel (Yangang) No.2 steel mill completed a hot run test of its No.3 slab continuous caster on 20 April 2016, Kallanish learns.
The two-strand continuous slab caster has been installed by MCC Tiangong Electromechanical Company which began work on 1 December 2015. The caster will produce slab in thicknesses of 180, 200 and 230mm with widths in the range 700-1550mm.
