Yancoal Australia’s coal production falls in Q2
Australia-listed coal miner Yancoal Australia has reported higher coal production in the second quarter ended 30 June, 2024 due to wet weather delays, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a statement that it recorded 13.9 million tonnes of run of mine (ROM) coal production in the second quarter, down 6% from 14.8mt a year ago.
The firm’s saleable coal production also dropped 9% year-on-year to 10.3mt in the second quarter.
