Yancoal Australia misses 2022 coal production target
Australia-listed miner Yancoal Australia reported lower production of saleable coal in 2022 due to several external factors, including wet weather, the Covid pandemic, and labour shortages, Kallanish notes.
The company's production for the year was 50.5 million tonnes of run-of-mine (ROM) coal, 38.9mt of saleable coal and 29.4mt of attributable saleable coal. Each of these figures was down 20% from the prior year.
