Yancoal Australia earnings surge on record high revenue
Australian coal miner Yancoal Australia’s net profit surged nearly five times to AUD 3.59 billion ($2.42 billion) in 2022 from a year earlier, after achieving record high revenue, Kallanish notes.
The group’s revenue soared 95.19% to AUD 10.55 billion, from AUD 5.4 billion a year ago.
According to the firm, the positive effect of the higher realised coal price more than outweighed the reduced production and sales volumes.
