Xinlai Mining to restart Gaodian iron ore mine
Shahe Xinlai Mining Company is seeking permits to restart the long-suspended Gaodian iron ore mine in Hebei Province. However, this only entails the restoration of the mine’s first phase, while Phase II is still pending, Kallanish notes.
The mine first applied for a mining licence in 1998, which was later extended until 7 September, 2026. However, problems such as lack of funding have caused the project to cease production since 2007.
