Xining Special Steel closes steelmaking plant
The No. 1 steelmaking plant of Xining Special Steel is reported to have been closed last week. This has reduced special steel capacity by 200,000 tonnes/year, Kallanish notes.
The steel plant had nine furnaces before it was closed, including two 30-tonne electric arc furnaces (EAF), one 40-t EAF, two 30-t ladle furnaces, one 30-t VOD furnace and one 30-t VD ladle furnace.
