Xinglong Steel moves towards being pure EAF steelmaker
Xinglong Steel in Tangshan has announced its plan to build a 110-tonne electric arc furnace, as well as two 110t ladle furnaces and a 110t VD refining furnace, according to an Industry and Information Technology Department of Hebei release.
The new EAF has a steel design capacity of 825,000 tonnes/year, while the three refining furnaces have a combined capacity of 2.5 million t/y, Kallanish notes.
