Xingcheng Special receives EAF upgrade approval
China’s Jiangyin Xingcheng Special Steel on Wednesday received the approval from the Department of Ecology and Environment of Jiangsu Province for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of its electric arc furnace upgrade project.
The company plans to build one 75-tonne and one 80t EAF with 1.225 million tonnes/year of crude steel capacity in total, Kallanish notes. The investment is CNY 2.15 billion ($301 million), with construction over four years.
