Xiaolong to start up new ferrochrome furnace
According to local sources in the province, ferrochrome maker Xiaolong Furnace Burden Company in Bayan Nur city, Inner Mongolia plans to start operation of a rotary kiln electric arc furnace (RKEF), Kallanish notes.
The company was set up in March last year and plans to construct four 33,000kVA RKEFs, with 20,000 tonnes/year of high carbon ferrochrome capacity. It has already commissioned one RKEF and is preparing to fire up the furnace on 4 December.
