Wuyang Steel to add slab caster
China's Wuyang Iron & Steel, located in Wuyang city, Pingdingshan, plans to invest CNY 600 million ($83.3m) to build one 4,600mm slab caster. This has been approved by its parent company, HBIS group. Construction is expected to commence this month, according to the Pingdingshan Government.
This unit is designed to produce 1 million tonnes/year of slab in widths of 1,600-2,500mm, thicknesses of 370mm, 420mm and 460mm, and fixed length of 2.1-7 metres.
