Worldsteel revises up MENA steel demand growth forecast
The World Steel Association has revised its growth forecast for Middle East and North Africa finished steel demand up to 2.5% on-year in 2017 from the 1.2% increase projected in last October’s short range outlook. This demand is now expected to reach 74.4 million tonnes.
MENA demand in 2016 totalled 72.6mt, down -0.5% versus 2015.
