Worldsteel revises down MENA demand outlook
Worldsteel has revised down its growth forecast for Middle East and North Africa finished steel demand. This is now projected to fall -4% on-year in 2019 to 66.1 million tonnes compared to the -0.6% contraction forecasted in worldsteel’s previous, April short-range outlook.
The Middle East alone is projected to see a -4.6% contraction in finished steel demand in 2019 to 47.9mt. This compares to a forecast of -2.6% in April.
