Will scrap prices rise further in Turkey?
Turkish mills are waiting for a clearer picture of finished steel demand before committing to more scrap purchases.
With the recovery seen in scrap prices last week, the number of offers in the Turkish market has increased considerably. Last week’s Baltic-origin HMS 1&2 80:20 scrap booking at $252/tonne cfr Turkey has increased the appetite of sellers, and deep-sea suppliers have directed their cargoes to the Turkish market this week.
