Whitehaven announces 50% capacity increase
Whitehaven Coal is targeting a processing capacity increase of 50% at its Winchester South coal project in Queensland, Australia. The miner expects to produce 15 million tonnes/year of run-of-mine coal over a mine life of more than 20 years, Kallanish notes.
This includes the production of pulverised coal injection (PCI) and semi-hard coking coal (SHCC), in addition to thermal coal exports.
