West European scrap values flatten, some decline
Values for French, Belgian and Luxembourg scrap are steady compared to last month. Two steelmakers however implemented €10-15/tonne ($10.9-16.3) price cuts due to lower needs, Kallanish notes. Sources in the sector forecast declining prices in September in line with lower Turkish scrap values and the subdued performance of finished long and flat products.
