Weekly US steel production ticks up
Raw steel production in the US ticked up last week, Kallanish learns from the latest data supplied by the American Iron and Steel Institute.
US mills produced an estimated 1.818 million short tons of raw steel during the week ended 11 December. This was a 0.6% increase from the week before and a 12.8% rise from the same week in 2020.
Weekly capability utilisation ticked up from 81.9% to 82.4%, and is up from 72.9% one year ago, according to the AISI data.
