Weekly US steel production ticks up
Weekly raw steel production in the US rose during the week ended 25 September, according to the latest American Iron and Steel Institute data analysed by Kallanish.
US raw steel production totalled 1.88 million short tons for the week, a 0.3% rise from the previous week and a 22.3% increase from the same week one year ago. Overall capability utilisation was 85.2% compared to 84.9% utilisation the week prior and 68.6% last year.
