Weekly US mill production falls to recent low
US raw steel production fell to a recent low last week, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute’s latest data.
AISI says US mills operated at 81.8% of their capabilities during the week ended 18 December, producing an estimated 1.805 million short tons of raw steel. Weekly production was down 0.7% sequentially, but up 12% from the same week last year when overall capability utilisation was 72.9%.
