Weaker Russian demand hampers NLMK first-quarter sales
NLMK’s consolidated sales slumped -5% quarter-on-quarter in the first quarter to 4.15 million tonnes due to the seasonal contraction of Russian domestic demand and increased slab deliveries to NLMK USA.
The drop was led by a -20% slump in semi-finished product shipments to 1.04mt. As well as to its US subsidiary, slab sales to NLMK’s NBH joint venture surged 32% to 600,000t as NBH’s sales increased, Kallanish learns from the Russian steelmaker.…
