Warrior Met Coal plans new mine in Alabama
US coking coal producer Warrior Met Coal has announced a new mine development near the company's operational mines at its Blue Creek reserves in Alabama, Kallanish reports.
The new longwall mine is expected to take five years and approximately $550-600 million to complete, with operations scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025. Warrior Met Coal is expected to begin funding of the project with an initial investment of $25m in 2020.
