Italian pig iron supply disappears amid Ukraine war
The Italian pig iron market has become quiet amid uncertainty and shortages of material arising from the war in Ukraine. The last vessel of pig iron shipped from Russia before the outbreak of war is now reaching Marghera port, the main steel hub in Italy. No fresh material will be shipped from the CIS – Italy’s main supplier – for the foreseeable future.
