Wanzhou Special Steel upgrades EAF
Wanzhou Special Steel in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, plans to begin the upgrade of its electric arc furnace this year. The new EAF will be put into production in May 2023, Kallanish notes.
Wanzhou Special Steel says it has obtained 600,000 tonnes/year of steelmaking capacity quota from two 30-tonne EAFs at Huaye Special Steel. Huaye Special Steel and Beijing Global Jierui Investment Company are the parents of Wanzhou Special Steel.
