VN Steel expects higher output in 2024
VN Steel reported saleable output of finished steel in 2023 was down by 13% on-year at 2.93 million tonnes. The steelmaker expects to see finished steel output reach 3.095mt in 2024, Kallanish notes.
The steelmaker saw construction steel output shrink 20% last year to 2.13mt on the weak real estate market. However, flat steel output gained 17% at 0.79mt, driven by the fast recovery of steel market demand in the second half of 2023.
