Vulcan coking coal project gains approval
Australian coal miner Vitrinite has gained mining approval for its Vulcan Mine Complex on the western margin of the Bowen Basin in Queensland.
The lease will unlock the first four years of an expected 15-year-plus mine life, with an estimated $170 million in royalties being paid to the Queensland budget, Kallanish notes. The miner expects to export premium low-volatility (PLV) hard coking coal from October.
