Vietnam’s steel trade takes a hit in July
Vietnam’s iron and steel imports and exports both took a hit in July amid sluggish demand. Year-to-date trade posted a higher value even as volumes declined, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
July imports of iron and steel amounted 909,245 tonnes, down 26.9% from June and down 2.5% year-on-year. Y-t-d import volumes were thus 7.4 million t, a decrease of 7.9% on-year, Kallanish observes.
