Vietnam's steel production falls to 2020 levels
Vietnam's steel production continued its decline in August due to the impact of Covid-19. Steel sales meanwhile were down year-on-year on weak demand, Kallanish notes.
According to official data from the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), steel production in August was 2.35 million tonnes, down by 1.9% on-month and flat compared with the same period of 2020. Steel sales fell by 9.4% on-month and 8% on-year to 1.9mt.
