Vietnam's steel imports soar in July
According to data from the Vietnam Iron & Steel Association (VSA), Vietnam imported 8.3 million tonnes of steel in the first seven months of this year, a decrease of about -0.8% from the same period last year.
Lower steel prices resulted in seven-month steel imports valued at just over $4.8 billion, down -14.1% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. The association says most steel exports to Vietnam are from China, South Korea and Japan.
