Vietnam’s steel imports, exports diverge in January
Vietnam’s iron and steel imports rebounded in January from the previous month, while exports continued to decline, but both fell year-on-year due to a week-long holiday break in January, according to the General Department of Customs.
The country’s iron and steel imports rose 12% from December but fell 16.7% y-o-y to 1.02 million tonnes in January. Exports meanwhile dropped 10.3% on-month and 14.1% y-o-y to 815,026t, Kallanish notes.
