Vietnam’s steel import, export trends continue to diverge
Vietnam’s cross-border steel trade trends continued in September, with a decline in exports and an increase in imports month-on-month, Kallanish notes.
Monthly exports of Vietnamese iron and steel lost 12.5% over August to 864,424 tonnes, but the figure was still 62.1% higher year-on-year. This took nine-month exports to 8.23 million t, a yearly gain of 27.4%, according to preliminary data from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam.
