Vietnam’s February steel, scrap trading volume rises steeply
After only one month, the imports of Vietnam’s iron and steel products surpassed exports again in February. Scrap steel imports more than doubled from the previous month, according to monthly data released by the Vietnam Customs.
Monthly steel exports amounted to 796,480 tonnes, up 18.5% month-on-month and 46.9% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. These products were purchased at $756/tonne on average, 11.2% higher than January.
