Vietnam’s August steel export, import trends stabilise
The trend of Vietnam's cross-border steel trade remained unchanged in August on a month-on-month basis, with a decline in exports and an increase in imports, Kallanish notes.
Monthly exports amounted to 988,075 tonnes in August, down 2% on July but still surging 92.3% from the year-ago level, according to preliminary data from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam. This took eight-month exports to 7.38 million t, a yearly increase of nearly a quarter.
