Vietnam’s April steel imports, exports diverge
In April this year, Vietnam’s exports of iron and steel grew while imports dropped significantly compared with March, but both remained higher on a year-on-year basis, Kallanish learns from monthly data released by the Vietnam Customs.
April steel exports from Vietnam amounted to 973,549 tonnes, up 11.4% month-on-month and just 0.2% y-o-y. The average realised price also hiked 5.9% from March to $835/tonne, but was 20% lower from the year-ago level.
