Vietnam’s September steel imports, exports diverge
In September, Vietnam’s iron and steel exports gained a little from August, but imports fell, partially due to severe weather in the month, according to data released by the General Administration of Customs.
Monthly exports of iron and steel products were 533,269 tonnes, up 3.8% month-on-month but down 60.7% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. This took year-to-date exports to 6.464 million t, dropping 34.4% over the same period of 2021.
