Vietnam supports Indian HRC exports but growth slows
Indian hot rolled flat products exports grew 7.5% on-year in January to 397,495 tonnes, thanks to continued strong demand from Vietnam, according to Indian commerce ministry provisional data seen by Kallanish.
The most-exported product was HR unpickled wide strip below 3mm thick under HS code 720839 whose shipments reached 220,249t. Their average value was $424/tonne versus $475/t in January 2019, although this rose from $401/t in December 2019.
