Vietnam-Italy Steel targets capacity expansion
Vietnam Italy Steel (VIS) says it will invest VND 1.66 trillion ($73 million) in doubling its billet capacity to 500,000 tonnes/year and building rebar and wire rod capacity to match. The VIS expansion was one of 12 removed from the Ministry of Industry’s sectoral development plan in 2016 but the company appears to be going ahead anyway, Kallanish notes.
