Vetorial resumes Ribas pig iron production
Brazilian group Vetorial Siderurgia has resumed pig iron production at its Ribas do Rio Pardo unit, Kallanish notes. The company put one of its blast furnaces into operation on 28 August after it had been halted since 2014 due to the earlier contraction of the domestic and international markets.
The blast furnace is set to produce 237,000 tonnes/year of pig iron and to generate 194 new jobs, Vetorial comments.
