Vale production seen unaffected by dam incident
The rupture of Dam 1 at the Córrego do Feijão mine in Brumadinho should not significantly affect Vale’s overall iron ore production, according to Brazilian analyst firm XP Investimentos. The Córrego do Feijão mine represents only 1.5-2.5% of Vale’s total iron ore production. The impact on costs and future developments, however, could be high.
