Vale's Oman plant sees second-quarter output rebound
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production rise 1.2% on-year in the second quarter to 2.49 million tonnes as pellet feed availability recovered. This was also a rebound from the 912,000t output recorded in Q1 2020 on account of the pellet feed shortage.
The Oman plant thus accounted for 35% of Vale’s consolidated Q2 pellet output versus 27% in Q2 2019 and only 13% in Q1 2020.
