Vale's Oman plant registers record quarterly output
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant registered a further recovery in production in the third quarter as output grew 4.6% on-year to a quarterly-record 2.6 million tonnes. This was due to the higher productivity of the plant and higher availability of feed, Vale says in a report sent to Kallanish.
Third-quarter output also rose 22.8% from Q2 due to a maintenance stoppage in April and May.
This followed a -6.8% on-year output slump in Q1.
