Vale's Oman plant increases Q1 pellet output 1.7%
Vale’s Oman-based plant increased iron ore pellet production 1.7% on-year in the first quarter to 1.93 million tonnes, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian miner.
This was also up 28% from Q4 2015 due to maintenance stoppages in the earlier quarter and productivity gains in Q1. The tonnage represented 17% of Vale’s consolidated pellet output which rose 0.8% on-year in Q1 to 11.48mt.
